Saskatchewan


Landform Regions: It is covered with grasslands of the great plains and the canadian shield is up north. The great plains go from the Canadian Rockies to the canadian shield. The land is mostly flat with areas that are treeless and shallow river valleys.

Climate Characteristics: In the summer, thunderstorms and hailstorms come occasionally. In the winter time there are some intense blizzards, and it can get extreamly cold. When it is the summer time the temperature can get extreamly hot.


Natural Vegeatation: The native flora of saskatchewan includes plants such as  algae, lichens and other fungi. in the southeast of saskatchewan it is mixed with the dry praries, the great sand hills area, and the Cypress hills.

Soils: Saskatchewan has podzols, mountains, chernozem, and chestnut. They can grow livestock, and they can farm. There are forestry, crops , grains, and wheat.

Three Interesting Places In Saskatchewan:


The Castle Butte: It is located 12 miles north of the Big Beaver and it is in the Big Muddy Valley. It is around 200 feet., It is a relic of the ice age. It provides a wonderful view of the muddy badlands.


The legislative building: It displays galleries, exhibits, and portraits of the former members of the legislative assembly, the aboriginal people, speakers, governors, and premiers. The interior pillars and floors are made from 34 types of marbles that were bought from all over the world. The carvings on the outside of the building was carved by the Broomgrove Guild Of England. Lion's head, gargoyles, and chains of grains and fuits  decorated the building.


Cypress Hills Provincial Park: It is high above the praries and it is an island. It is a mix of grassland, wetlands, and forests. There are many species of birds and mammals.  You can go stroll along the lakes or go fishing. it is a great place to go to for an vacation.

Alberta

Landform Regions: Some of the plains in Alberta are rocky mountains. The area is mostly flat with some hills. Sometimes rocks are left over from glaciers. The grasslands are located southeast of Alberta and also the plains.

Climate Characteristics: Alberta has a cool climate where the average temperatures are lower in the south areas. Some regions reach to 40 degrees and more. In July and August it is where the solar radiation is the highest. In the winter the temperature can have a drop of up to 40 degrees.

Natural Vegetation: Alberta has the countries most oil and natural gas. From Wateron to the Saskatchewan border, there are grassland which is dry and mostly treeless. There are also deep river valleys.

Soils: Alberta's soils are Podzols, Chernozem, Chestnut, and Mountain. There are many forests, fields of crops, forestry, wheat and farming.  

Three Interesting Places In Alberta:

Ice fields parkway:

You go onto a tour bus which brings you onto the surface of the Athabasca Glacier. The driver will then go on and tell you about glaciers and ice fields and how that impacts our environment.

Chinook Rafting:


It is the closest thing to white water rafting. There is a professional that will bring you into the water and have a great rafting adventure.

Ice Walk in Jasper national park:

The guide will bring you through the Maligne River bed which changes from the winter temperatures. Then the guide will bring you underneath the Maligne River to see the ice sculptures. It is safe because the water level drops the freezing temperatures.

British Columbia


Landform Regions: British Columbia is in the Western Cordillera Region.
It has many mountains and many valleys. It has 2 main regions: " The Coast" and " The Interior".

Climate Characteristics: In the winter, British Columbia's interior gets very cold during that season. The snow can last from November to March. And for spring and fall it is very warm and relaxing. In the daytime you could wear shorts and t-shirts. But during the evening, to bring an sweater. During the summer time, it can get extreamly hot. The temperatures can range from 22 degrees F to 82 degrees F.


Natural Vegetation: It's mostly the vegetation of the Cordillera region
with some of the west coast. British Columbia has plants growing like
cactus's and grasses. They grow in hot and dry valleys. There are coniferous
trees that grow on the lower slopes. Higher than the tree line, there are some
shrubs, and meadows of flowers. There is almost or no vegetation on the higher slopes.

Soils: British Columbia have the soil regions of podzols, tundra, and mountain.
It has forestry, and also has livestock and farming. British Columbia has land that is hugely unused because it cannot grow anything.

Three Intereting Places in British Columbia:
Tourism Valemount is where you would go if you wanted a rocky mountain vacation. It is created by the very inspiring cariboo, the Monashee and the rocky mountains. During the winter people from around the world come to ski and go snowmobiling. There are many good gift shops for tourists who come to British Columbia to visit.

Blue River Provincial Park:

In this park you can go angling, and fishing. You can also walk your pets. And you can go bird watching. And during the winter you can go snowshoeing. 



Atna River Provincial Park:

You can go hunting, hiking, mountaineering, fishing, canoeing, and also wildlife viewing.
Camping is permitted. The Atna lake is very cold. It is from the glaciers. So swimmers go
for a quick dive to refresh themselves.
